Narrator: The EX Plan. For two professional bass anglers, it could be the difference between life and death. What these two men are attempting could change their careers and save their lives. When relearning life as an angler means becoming an EX.
Narrator: As two of the senior anglers on the tour, Zell Rowland and Kevin Wirth, are fighting the odds. Only two men over 50 have won the Bass Masters Classic, none in the last nine years. Today, this is a young man's sport.
Don: I think of all the athletes I've been around, it is probably the most demanding. Practice days begin at dawn and end at dusk.
Narrator: Wirth is 47, Rowland 52, both men are committing everything for a chance to win now. Wirth will fish the Classic in 2010, but Rowland will not, humbling for the man, who at 13, was the youngest ever to fish the Elite Tour.
Zell: I've had three years of horrible...I need to be able to get back to where I can read the water.
Man: An eight pounder!
Kevin: I would like to get my body in a little better physical shape, get my mind working a little better, have a little bit better game plan.
Narrator: How far will these anglers go to redefine their games? How about undergoing a complete personal makeover. Quitting smoking, and using a proven plan to become an EX for life.
Dr. Hurt: Now, are you ready to quit this time?
Zell: I think I'm ready, you know, with the EX Plan. I think it will be easier this time than what it was last time.
Narrator: Complicating matters, catching fish and not catching fish, is a trigger for smoking for both men.
Kevin: I gotta get myself to slow down. Maybe it's an immediate reaction thing. I'm gonna reach in here, pull my cigarette out, fire that up. That gets me to fish a whole lot slower.
Zell: The harder it is to get a bite, the more I seem to smoke. I quit once before, and started again. This EX Plan is probably one of the best things I could do for myself.
Narrator: The anglers are inviting us along as they revamp their game, and they use the EX Plan to quit smoking for good, but their peers are skeptical.
Gerald: I'm betting ten to one they can't quit smokin'.
Gary: I'll believe it when I see it when I see it. I hope they do, I really do.
Narrator: As each week passes, these competitors are closer to becoming an EX for life. The EX Plan, brought to you by EX. Relearn life without cigarettes free, at becomeanex.org.
