How to relax without a cigarette...
1. Instead of lighting up as soon as you feel stressed, just take 10 deep breaths. That's all. Just 10. Then you can have a cigarette.2. Next time, do the same thing, but then just wait five minutes before smoking. Just five measly minutes.
3. Now try waiting 10 minutes. And as you wait, cut yourself some slack. Sit down to watch a game, a movie, NASCAR, anything you love. Just don't smoke while you're sitting there. Get up and go outside to light up. Change your routine. Break the "glue" between the smoking trigger - feeling stressed - and the cigarette.
