The Morning Trigger
The morning routine can sometimes trigger a smoking craving. Here’s how to re-learn mornings without a cigarette. It will help you when quit day rolls around and you actually quit smoking.
1. Get Things Done
Instead of smoking as soon as you get out of bed, give yourself some time to play with the kids, answer emails, read text messages or do some other little chore you’ve been meaning to. Spend the first 10 minutes with your hands busy. THEN have your cigarette.
2. Wait ’Til After Your Shower
The next day, wait until after you’ve hopped in and out of the shower.
3. Have A Healthy Breakfast
Quit making those greasy old breakfasts you used to make. They’re just huge smoking triggers with a fork and spoon. Try these healthy alternative.
4. Avoid The Morning News
If the regular morning news makes you want to smoke, check out the Good News Network.
