Smoking a cigarette may be a part of your morning routine. Quitting smoking means breakingyour old routines. Here’s how to re-learn your morning routine without a cigarette. It will help you when quit day rolls around and you actually quit smoking.
1. Wait ’Til The Kids Are Gone
Every family has a morning routine. But let’s face it — nothing ever goes as planned, especially when kids are involved. Someone is always late, grumpy, hungry, sleepy, forgetful or a list of a million other things. It can be extremely stressful for a parent, and that can be a smoking trigger. The best part, however, is knowing that once you drop the kids off, it’s over. Set a goal that you won’t smoke at least until the rug rats are off to school.
2. Reduce Morning Stress
Plan ahead. Make sandwiches and lunches the night before and have your kids pick out their clothes for the next day before they go to bed — anything you can do to make the next morning less stressful. Hopefully, your mornings will run a little more smoothly, but if not, still hold off on smoking that cigarette until after the kids are gone.
3. Make A Morning Mix
We know that just because you leave the house doesn’t mean you leave all the stress. There are plenty of things that can add to morning anxiety outside of the home. Make a mix of your favorite music for driving to work. It will calm you as you get ready to take on the day. Avoid that cigarette as long as the music is playing.
4. Up The Fun
