How to deal with a jerk-face boss without a cigarette...
1. When the boss does something mean or irritating, take a few deep breaths. Of air. Not smoke. Tell yourself you'll smoke in five minutes. You'll relax, the feeling will pass, and you'll see that you can actually get through one little battle without smoking.2. Next time the boss does something, wait ten minutes before heading off for a cigarette. Call a friend first and tell them ALL the horrible details. It'll let off some steam, and it'll put some delay in between feeling stress and the usual cigarette that you have right afterward.
3. Check out this site. Before things get unbearable, take a few minutes to, as they say, “bliss out”. And go through a few of these stress relief exercises until the urge has passed.
