Should I Use Zyn to Quit Vaping?

There are different ways to quit vaping. You may have heard of using nicotine pouches like Zyn, On!, or Velo to quit vaping. Here are answers to a few common questions about using nicotine pouches to quit vaping.

Should I use Zyn or other nicotine pouches to quit vaping?

It is not recommended to use nicotine pouches like Zyn to try to quit vaping. Nicotine pouches are very addictive because they can contain high concentrations of nicotine. Using Zyn to try to quit vaping can just leave you with a different product you're trying to quit.

Is nicotine replacement therapy a good option for quitting vaping?

You may want to consider using nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to quit vaping if the idea of quitting with Zyn or similar products appeals to you.

NRT includes nicotine gum, lozenges, and patches. They are safe and effective ways to overcome a nicotine addiction. NRT makes quitting more comfortable, so you can develop new ways to cope with triggers, cravings, and stress.

Nicotine gum and lozenges come in flavors, including mint and fruit.

How can I get nicotine replacement therapy?

You don’t need a prescription for nicotine gum, lozenges, or patches. You can get them over the counter in pharmacies, retail stores, and online. You may also be able to get NRT for free by calling your state’s quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669).

How is nicotine replacement therapy different from vaping and nicotine pouches?

There are 3 key ways that NRT is different from vaping or using nicotine pouches like Zyn.

  1. NRT is a safe and effective way to quit nicotine. NRT is intended to help you transition off of nicotine and stop using nicotine for good. Products like vapes and nicotine pouches are intended for continued use of nicotine.
  2. NRT is approved and regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as quitting medication. No vape or nicotine pouch is approved by the FDA to help people quit.
  3. Decades of research show that NRT is safe to use, even for a long time. Vaping can have negative health effects. Long-term health effects of nicotine pouches are unknown, since they are such a new product.

How to quit vaping and e-cigs?

I’m concerned for my health and I do not want to continue wasting my money on this horrible addiction but I quite literally cannot go a day without nicotine as my medication makes me go stir-crazy without it.

Any advise for assisting in quitting e-cigs/vaping, particularly when on AHDH medication is so appreciated. I’m desperate for help! Thank you.
